Billmon: Man of the Hour

Since today is tax day, I thought it might be appropriate to pay homage to that Republican icon of the way things ought to be (and, it appears, will be) -- John D Rockefeller.

Now that our beloved Chamber of People's Deputies has passed the permanent estate tax repeal -- or, as Kevin Drum likes to call it, the Republican Trust Fund Baby Act of 2005 -- the Glorious Conservative Cultural Revolution has moved one step closer to its dream of recreating the Gilded Age of American capitalism -- back when men were men, women were women, and five-year-old children were gainfully employed.
