Jesselee at The Stakeholder: SCOTUS & Ideology

Just a quick note. There seem to be two central discussions going on around SCOTUS.
1) What type of ideology will President Bush try to find in his Supreme Court nominee? How will that nominee's ideology reshape the court? What will that ideology say about Bush's historical standing - both in "uniter vs. divider" terms and "moderate vs. extremist" terms? President Bush has promised a nominee with the ideology of a Scalia or Thomas - will the extreme right rebel if the ideology of the nominee turns out not be closely enough aligned? More generally, what message will President Bush try to send with the ideological bent of his nominee?
2) Will Democrats have the gall to bring ideology into this debate?
